about

This song was written in the Summer of 2015 for a film called 'Who Gets The Dog?'. In conjunction with the film's release, I chose to release the song in September of 2016. I've never been under such a tight deadline to churn out a song. The song was written, demoed, approved by the producer and film editors, (with some lyrical feedback,) tracked, mixed and mastered all in 48 hours. A whirlwind couple of days! Lots of fun though. Enjoy.

lyrics

Love you're like a razor in the snow
You'd cut me up before I'd even know
Cage me up now, baby, never let me go

You hang me black and white all over town
Tell your friends I'm lost but you I've found
Love you' really done a number on me now

Maybe I cast my net a bit too wide love
Like the broken waves you fall back to the sea
And baby I know you've got a lot to hide from
But somebody, someday is gonna find ya
And it's gonna be me
It's gonna be me

Did you really think I'd learn from my mistakes?
Did you ever find peace in the disarray?
Lift me up now, baby, don't make me beg

Maybe I cast my net a bit too wide love
Like the broken waves you fall back to the sea
And baby I know you've got a lot to hide from
But somebody, someday is gonna find ya
And it's gonna be me

It's gonna be me who falls down at your doorstep
Bears the lonely hours and waits for you to wake
It's gonna be me forsaking all possessions
And falls down on the blade if that's what it takes
Is it gonna be me?

Maybe I cast my net a bit too wide love
Like the broken waves you fall back to the sea
And baby I know you've got a lot to hide from
But somebody, someday is gonna find ya
And it's gonna be me
And it's gonna be me
And it's gonna be me
And it's gonna be me
