about

Of all the songs I've written in the past couple of years this one might be my favorite. Lyrically, it's very honest and I also feel like the recording just turned out really cool. Hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed creating it. Cheers!

lyrics

Once upon a simple time
Years before your world was born
When there was mystics trapped in glass
Prophets to the misinformed

We used to drink our nights away
Under lamplight spirits flowed
We used to cut our laughter loose
Spend our evenings in a warm glow

But you start to feel your senses dull
You grow threadbare on that cutting board

We used to chase down the wind
Drink it deep into our bones
We used to dance the nights away
As if the earth was just a stepping stone

We used to claw down the mean streets
Ravenous for company
Back in the days before the feed
When we was happy to be hungry

But you start to feel your senses dull
You grow threadbare
You spend your youth thinkin' you're gonna die young
But just like that you don't
Your best years wasted on that cutting board

Do you feel yourself gettin' bored?

Don't fool yourself darling
Love fades without human touch
It grows threadbare

I wanna feel the strength in your arms
Until the day your strength is gone
I wanna taste the salt on your skin
Until it turns to dust again

Cuz' you start to feel your senses dull
You grow threadbare
You spend your youth thinkin' you're gonna die young
But just like that you're old
Your best years wasted on that...
Sold your heartbreak to that...
Feel your restless heart just getting bored

Do you feel yourself gettin' bored?
